Founded in 2013, Insicon is a cybersecurity advisory that specialises in providing independent advice and leadership to executives and board directors.

We conduct comprehensive cybersecurity risk assessments to identify threats and vulnerabilities specific to each organisation, providing a blueprint for risk remediation. From that blueprint, we then assist companies to develop a robust information security management system to increase customer and supplier trust by demonstrating secure policies and procedures that align to ISO 27001 or other cybersecurity standards and frameworks.

Job Brief - Business Development Manager

Insicon, a growing Australian cybersecurity organisation, is looking for an additional Business Development Manager to join our Sales team and help us identify new opportunities, drive strategic growth, and deliver tailored solutions to our clients.

Our ideal candidate is a seasoned B2B sales professional with a strong track record in the cybersecurity or IT sector, who combines commercial savvy with outstanding interpersonal skills. You are proactive, self-driven, and resilient, with the ability to independently generate leads and close deals while collaborating effectively with both clients and internal teams. As we continue to grow, you will be key to driving Insicon’s growth and maintaining its reputation as a leading Australian cybersecurity organisation.

Role Purpose:

  1. To proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across the range of Insicon’s services and solutions.
  2. To develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed quarterly and annual target.
  3. To build and nurture strong relationships with prospective clients, partners, and key industry stakeholders.
  4. To manage the end-to-end sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification through to contract negotiation and close.
  5. To collaborate closely with technical and delivery teams to ensure solutions are tailored to client needs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve revenue targets and maintain growth margin as per the business objectives to create and maintain enterprise value.
  • Proactively meet or exceed set monthly sales targets by self-generated leads and follow-up on leads provided from within the business.
  • Schedule and conduct sales meetings with prospective clients on time and in a professional manner.
  • Research industry trends to identify new channels.
  • Report to the management team with relevant information and feedback regarding sales process, status and conversion rates.
  • Develop and complete proposals for new business and present proposal to potential clients.
  • Create, amend and oversee all proposals to ensure they are sent to prospective clients correctly.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings to review and discuss sales performance, achievements and techniques.
  • Initiate, support and provide feedback for new marketing strategies to help promote the company's brand.
  • Perform and review pricing, products and services with related industry competitors.
  • Manage and update prospective clients.
  • Manage client expectations to prevent any misunderstanding relating to services provided by the company.
  • Keep clear and concise notes detailing meetings and schedule future appointments with prospective clients.
  • Keep all lead statuses up to date for sales reporting.
  • Develop new initiatives for creating leads, and increasing potential sales opportunities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within cybersecurity product or advisory, related IT product, or managed security services.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment.
  • Proven ability to independently generate and convert new business pipeline.
  • High degree of self-reliance, resilience, and tenacity.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of solution-based selling.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Valid Australian working rights and current driver’s licence.
